Mildred D. Johnston, 99, died March 13, 2014 at Meadow Winds Assisted Living, Casper, WY. Mildred "Milly" D. Johnston was born July 21, 1914 to Ludwig and Clara (Zimmerman) Lewis in Sydney, ND. She grew up in Dawson ND, graduated from high school and went on to further education in Jamestown. She loved shorthand and her jobs as secretary. Milly married her Dawson sweetheart, Charles Johnston in 1943. They moved to Oakland, CA during WWII to find work. Milly worked at the War Treasury Department and after the war she worked as secretary for the IRS for the next 30 years. Milly and Chuck moved to Reno, NV in 1967. After retiring they enjoyed traveling, especially in their motor home. Following her husband's death, Milly continued traveling, meeting many friends along the way. She was a lifelong honorary member of the Silver Sage Good Sam's Club and enjoyed many hobbiesIn 2011 she moved to Glenrock, WY to be near her nephew and family. Milly enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed. She is survived by a brother, Donald, nieces and nephews, cousins, and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Harold. Milly has been cremated under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place in Dawson, ND.
