Mickey Anderson

Services and interment for Mickey Anderson will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery, Evansville. Viewing will be Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Bustard's Funeral Home. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Mickey Alan Ole Anderson was born in Casper, WY on February 16, 1940 to Warren and Gloria (Higgins) Anderson. He passed away on March 12, 2012 at Wyoming Medical Center of natural causes at the age of 72. Mickey attended Casper schools until he joined the United States Army Reserve in 1957. He served actively in the Reserve until August of 1982, and in the Retired Reserve until February 16, 2000, when he retired fully as a Master Sergeant. He met and married Mary Jo Lummus on February 22, 1963. They later divorced in 1974. Together they raised 5 children. In his younger years he did a lot of farming and ranching, as well as guiding and outfitting hunters. He later went to work for Natrona County Road & Bridge until he went to work for the Department of the Army as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic until retirement in 1995. He loved hunting, fishing and camping and the outdoors in general. He is survived by his brother Warren James (Jimmy) of Casper, sisters, Dorothy (Cookie) Brown of Tempe, Arizona and Arlene Carr of Casper, his 5 children Jenny (John) Mullette of Columbia, Missouri, Mickey (Cheryl) Anderson of Midwest, WY, Krissy Jo Clarkson of Casper, Travis (Connie) Anderson of Edgerton, WY, and Jason (Mandy) Anderson of Casper, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many more to come. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Donna Anderson, brother-in-law, Don Carr, and numerous aunts and uncles.
