Michael Summerford

Michael passed away suddenly on December 8th, 2016 at his home. Michael was born August 15th 1968 in Soda Springs, Idaho to H.E. (Eddie) Summerford & Janet (Schwarz) Julian. As toddler, Michael moved around the US quite extensively from Idaho to Mississippi and in between with his family until 1970 when they made their way back to Casper where his family was actually from. Michael attended Cresthill elementary, CY Junior High and NCHS Besides spending time with his daughter Cameron, his favorite past time was to be in The Big Horn Mountains on the middle fork of the Powder River at his Uncle Lowell's house. Michael helped his uncle build the house from beginning to end and was the place where Michael could really find peace in this world. On May 09, 1997 Michael married Trudy Dooling. With this union he gained a beautiful daughter Katie that he helped to raise as if she was his own. On September 3, 1998, together they welcomed their beautiful daughter Cameron into this world. Cameron was definitely Michael's pride and joy. Mike and Trudy later divorced but their friendship continued. Michael worked mostly as a industrial engine mechanic, most recently working for the McMurry's at M & N Field Service. He had been attending Casper College in the spring of 2016 until he fell ill. Michael is preceded in death by mother and father, his grandparents H.E. (Ed) & Verna Summerford and William & Marie Schwarz. His uncles, Lowell and Quintin Summerford, his Aunt Kristy and his cousins Steven and Donna. He is survived by his daughters Cameron and Katie, His ex-wife Trudy all of Casper. His sister Dawn Stewart and his niece Danielle Stewart-Reed of Casper. He is also survived by his step-father Gary Julian and his daughters Leslie Fritzler (Paul, Rachel & Drew) and Stacy Julian. His aunts, Lonna Summerford-Huss and Tina Summerford and his Aunt, Shirley Herstein all of Casper and his uncle, Bill Schwarz of Atlanta, GA and many cousins. Donations can be made either to the family to help with funeral expenses or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
