Michael Dean Ravert, age 66, of Lander, passed away on January 31, 2019 in Casper after a battle with cancer. Mike was born on December 23, 1952 in Casper, Wyoming to Dean and Dolores Ravert. He attended schools in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1970. During his junior high years, Mike participated on the basketball, wrestling, and track teams. Mike worked in the oil field after graduating high school. He then moved to Lander to work in the mill at US Steel. He worked at Weekly's Interiors for many years laying flooring, where a hardworking reputation followed him. Mike was well-known for his carpet laying skills and many often sought him out to help. He was also a bartender off and on at Stockgrower's Bar, VFW, B&B, and worked several One Shot Antelope Hunt events. Mike loved watching his Denver Broncos. No matter how good or bad the season, or how many times he may have thrown his hat or had a few choice words, he remained a loyal fan. He competed in the dart and pool leagues in Lander for many years. He also loved to play horseshoes, go hunting and fishing, and sit in the backyard and watch the world go by. He loved it the most when his grandbabies would come and visit. Mike is survived by his parents, Dean and Dolores; son Ben Ravert and wife Tiffany, and granddaughters Anzlie, Grayce, Emma, and Paysen of Tualatin, Oregon; daughter Mandy Thomas and husband Terry, and grandchildren Jaysie, Cole, and Ellie of Wright; son Jason Stevens and granddaughter Cameah of Gillette; sister Cheryl Ravert of Casper; brother Wade Ravert and wife Debbie of Casper; brother-in-law Tim McKinney and wife Rosanne of Lander; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his dog Spook. Mike is preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Kelly Ravert; grandparents Elmer and May Hougham, and Lloyd and Viola Ravert. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 10th, 2019 at 11 am at the VFW in Lander.
