Michael McKnight, 53 passed away at his home in Casper on May 14, 2019. Michael was born August 14, 1965 in Douglas WY and was placed into foster care after birth and was later adopted by Judith Bochmann and William K. McKnight. Michael graduated from Kelly Walsh High School and later pursued a career at the Parkway Plaza where health issues forced his retirement after 20 years. Mikey, as he was so fondly called, was very active in a multitude of sports which led to his participation in the Special Olympics. He participated in the winter and summer games with hockey being his main event. That in turn, led to his participation in speed skating. Michael was an avid Denver Bronco fan along with The Dukes of Hazard, Mountain Dew and the rock group KISS. His niece fondly remembers him being the best Christmas present wrapper! Michael is survived by his mother Judith Bochmann of Casper, father William K. McKnight of Columbus, MT, his brother Fritz (Carey) Halstead of Elizabeth, CO, his sister Kelley (Daniel) Hittle of Casper, and his brother Robbin (Maritza) Halstead of Tracey CA. Also to cherish his memory, Michael leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family. Preceding him in death was his step-father Brad Bochmann and nephew Sean Halstead. Memorial services will be held at Bustards Funeral Home Thursday May 23, 2019 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Michaels name be made to The Special Olympics of Wyoming.
