Mike H. Cotton, July 21, 1949 - February 9, 2019 Mike was born on July 21, 1949 to O.C and Bernestine Cotton in Amarillo, Texas. After a long battle with lung and heart disease he went to heaven during the early morning hours on Saturday February 9, 2019. At a very young age his family relocated to Casper where he attended school. He enlisted in the Army, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. In the summer of 1970 Mike married Jolene Puettman. Together they had two children, and owned and operated a few successful businesses. In the late 1970's they started a new venture and built a family home in the Big Horn Mountains, that remains a special place for the entire family. Mike was self-employed for much of his life doing construction work and janitorial services. Along the way Mike made countless lifetime friendships. Anyone who knew him had at least three memories of him; the time he helped them, the time he made them mad, and the times he made them laugh. Mike was always there when you needed him whether it was to help tow a broken-down vehicle or have a cup of coffee and talk. He had an amazing sense of humor and never failed to have a witty comment for every situation. The grandchildren would love to visit with "Papa Really" to hear his stories. He was a man that stood up for the things he believed in. Mike, "Papa Really", was the best "short, fat, cute guy" we knew. We love him and will forever miss him. The pleasure has been all ours. He is survived by his daughter, Tonya Yetter (Jeff), son Joshua Cotton (Sadie), grandchildren: Autum, Ashley, Abigail, Tayler, Lauren, Corwin, and six great grandchildren, brothers, John Cotton, Steve Cotton, longtime companion Marty Rone, and honorary grandchildren Austin Mettler, Marriah Zumbrennen, Jose Fernandez. He is preceded in death by Jolene Cotton, his father, mother, brother Tim Cotton, and brother Rodger Cotton. Memorial services will be held on February 19, 2019 at 2:30 pm in the chapel at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery 80 Veterans Road, Evansville, WY. A celebration of life will immediately follow at the VFW 1800 Bryan Stock Trail Casper, WY.
