Melba Lee Blumberg, 71, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on November 1, 2017 in Casper. She was born in Raton, New Mexico on March 10, 1946 to Gilbert Charles Malcolm and Elizabeth Ann (Morrow) Malcolm. She grew up on a ranch just outside of the town of Raton with her three brothers Danny, Brian, and Gilbert. She attended the University of New Mexico before meeting the love of her life, Robert M. Blumberg, a native of Jacksonville, Florida. They were happily married for 50 years. They were married in the chapel on Kirtland Air Force Base on July 22, 1967 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After Robert's (Bob) honorable discharge from the Air Force, they moved to Louisiana where Robert became employed in the oil field. Over the next several years, the family was transferred from Lafayette, Louisiana to Casper, Wyoming with their five children, Robert Jr, Sam, Danielle, Amanda, and Meghen. Melba Lee was the pillar of family. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She very active and supportive in the education and extracurricular lives of her child during their time growing up in Wyoming. Melba Lee was a loyal friend to many throughout the community. She started working for Natrona County School District #1 in 1985. After 30 years of dedicated service, Melba Lee retired. Her love for extracurricular activities and hobbies extended to her eight grandchildren: Cheyenne and MaKenna (Robert Jr.), Gabby and Sammy (Sam), Haley and Amanda (Danielle), Ethan and Avery (Amanda). Melba was passionate about reading, sewing, and gardening. Since retiring, she looked forward to numerous family trips taken every summer. She is survived by her brothers Gilbert and Danny Malcolm; her husband Robert M. Blumberg; her five children Robert Jr. (Charlene), Sam (Lea Ann), Danielle (Brian) Wagner, Amanda (Donald) Brinkman, and Meghen; and her 8 grandchildren. Melba is preceded in death by her brother Brian Malcolm and her parent's Gilbert Charles and Elizabeth Ann Malcolm. A closed casket viewing will be on November 7, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Bustard's Funeral Home. Services will be on November 8, 2017 at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life will follow the funeral services at Paradise Valley Country Club at 1:30 p.m.
