Memorial services for Maxine Eleanor Meyer will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 27, 2010 at Bustard's Funeral Home with Chaplain Whalen Woodward officiating. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery beside her husband. Mrs. Meyer, 92, died September 22, 2010 at Central Wyoming Hospice. She was born November 11, 1917 in Findlay, Ohio, the daughter of Harvey and Goldie Hershey. She and her sister, Juanita (deceased) moved with her family to Midwest when she was a young girl, during the boom days of the Salt Creek oil field. She graduated from NCHS and married Lewis John Meyer (deceased). She worked at several businesses and was secretary of the Casper Building and Construction Trades Council for more than 25 years. She later was secretary for the JACT electrical apprentice training program. Her special talent was china painting and she enjoyed fellow artists and competing at Wyoming State and County Fairs. She has two children, a daughter, Eleanor (deceased) and a son, Gene Meyer of Houston, TX. She is survived by five grandchildren, Jerry and Shawn Saunders, Mark and Eric Meyer, and Karen Meyer-Philipps, five great grandchildren, Katherine, Sarah, Tawny, Ann and Abbey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Casper Senior Center or Central Wyoming Hospice.
