Maurice Weishaar

Maurice "Mo" Frances Weishaar, 86, died March 5, 2013 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington, Wyoming. A Memorial Mass for "Mo" will be celebrated Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Casper, WY; Father Robert Fox officiating. A reception will follow the Memorial Mass in the Church Basement. Interment will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Oregon Trail Cemetery. "Mo" was born on January 10, 1927 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the daughter and only child of Frank and Florence Quinlan. She received her entire education at the Corpus Christi Academy in Fort Dodge; graduating from there in 1945. "Mo" then went on to Marquette University for a short time before returning home to help her family. She married Donald Weishaar on December 29, 1947 in Fort Dodge. The couple then moved to Ames, Iowa while Don attended Iowa State and "Mo" worked as a dental assistant. After Don completed college the couple moved back to Fort Dodge. One daughter and two sons were born during the next six years. Then in 1954 the family moved to Casper, WY. In 1957 the family moved to Boulder, Colorado while Don attended the University of Colorado-Boulder. Their second daughter was then born. The family then moved back to Casper. After Don retired the couple traveled, making a winter home in Lady Lake, FL for 14 years. After that they remained in Casper year round where "Mo" lived until January 11, 2012 when she moved to the Care Center in Torrington. The greatest joys in "Mo's" life were her family and her pets. She was especially proud of her growing family; welcoming each new spouse and each new child with such happiness. She loved being a homemaker and cooking for her family. For a few summers she was a wheat harvest cook and truck driver for harvest on her daughter and son-in-law's farm. She loved to work in her yard, feed the birds in the pine tree in the front yard, and go deer watching all around Casper. "Mo" was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Casper and an Altar and Rosary Circle Member. She served as a past hospital volunteer. She and Don were members of the Casper Troopers Parent Group. Especially dear to her heart was the Casper Humane Society. "Mo" is survived by her four children: Donna (William) Duncan of Fort Laramie, WY, David (Kathie) Weishaar of Tucson, AZ, Douglas (Mary Ann) Weishaar of Charlotte, NC, and Deborah (Michael) Pushchak of Cherry Hills Village, CO; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren plus two great grandchildren who are due to arrive in the summer, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Casper Humane Society, 849 East E Street, Casper WY 82601-2051, the Natrona County Meals on Wheels 1760 East 12th Street, Casper WY 82601, or Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church 1401 CY Avenue, Casper WY 82604. Cremation has taken place.
