Matthew Trott

Matthew Charles Trott age 46 passed away on April 22, 2017 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyoming after a long battle with cancer with his wife Nicole at his side. Matthew was born on January 15th,1971 in Bakersfield, California. He lived in Texas and Louisiana before moving to Wyoming where he would graduate from Glenrock High School in 1989 and would go on to University of Wyoming. Matt married his wife Nicole on March 11,1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He became a Captain with the Casper Fire Department for 21 years and retired in March 2017. He was committed to serving the community and the surrounding areas without complaint. Matt had a love for the outdoors especially camping, hiking, running and riding his mountain bike. Matt and his family loved watching football especially the Wyoming Cowboys and going to Colorado Rockies games. He was also the first firefighter to be recognized under Wyoming's new workers comp bill for firefighters with cancer. On April 22, 2017 he was honored with the Spirit of Perseverance award from the Childhood Development Center of Central Wyoming. His positive attitude towards life was contagious and he always had a smile on his face. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ellsworth and Marjorie Trott of Bakersfield, California. He is survived by his wife Nicole and daughter Shelby of Casper Wy, parents Charles and Christine Trott of Glenrock Wy, grandparents Jerry and Jaqueline Meeks of Casper Wy, brother Michael and Kristi Trott of Casper Wy, niece and nephews Riley, Jacob and Jeremy of Casper Wy, aunt Cynthia and Ray Miller of Colorado Springs,Co and cousins Summer (Rich) of Castle Rock, Co and Jonathon (Michelle) of Portland, Oregon and many other nieces and nephews and extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Restoration Church, 411 South Walsh Dr., Casper.
