Maryellen “Rosie” Johnson passed away on Thursday, July 20th at her home in Casper, Wyoming surrounded by her family and immense love.
A Rosary will be held on Monday July 24th at 7:00 PM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday July 25 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church followed by inurnment at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
Rosie’s legacy will be carried on by her seven children, Michelle, Susan, Rebecca, Christopher, Dennis, Robert, and Timothy; her many son and daughter-in-laws whom she considered her children; as well as her abundance of 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Rosie was a devoted mother and grandmother, her favorite titles.
Rosie was born on February 23rd of 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Fred and Rita Hulett. She married her husband Vern Johnson on September 11th, 1976 in North Platte, Nebraska, later moving to Casper, Wyoming with her husband and seven children.
Rosie was an avid reader and traveler, having been to eight countries and on countless cruises. She worked at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for 23 years, where she aided and educated children throughout their journey with Christ. Rosie will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, creativity, and love. Her door was always open, and her warm hospitality encouraged so many to make memories in her presence.
Rosie is now laid to rest at peace with her little sister Julia “Judy” McPhillips, with whom she shares a tremendous bond.
