Mary Perkins

June 7, 1927 — April 3, 2018

Mary Perkins passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 3, 2018, at Life Care. of Casper, where she had been cared for lovingly for over two and a half years. Mary was born June 7, 1927, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the youngest of three children, to George and Annis Allison. They moved to Winnetka, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, where she attended New Trier High School for one year. The family relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she graduated in 1945. The following year she went to Vogue School of Design and the Art Institute of Chicago. Moving to Casper in 1947, she worked as a bookkeeper at the old Casper National Bank (now First Interstate Bank) where she met her future husband Warren (Perk) Perkins. They married in August of 1948 and had three children, Peggy, Tom, and David. She was active in everything that involved the kids, whether it was helping as "room mother" in the classroom, transporting, or cheering. She and her husband traveled a great deal in Europe and the U.S. She loved playing tennis with all her friends and kept busy with various activities. After Perk passed away, she traveled with her friend Louise, and they laughed their way across the ocean and several countries. One of her greatest loves was having her dogs with her. She is survived by her three children, nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years in 1998, and by her sister, Ann Hershberger, a brother Lou Allison, and her parents. The service will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jack Olsen officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Blue Envelope, the Humane Society, or Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions. .
