Funeral services for Mary Inez Muir, 94, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. Born February 25, 1917, she was the first of ten children born to Leroy and Sarah Margaret Greiner Johnson in Knox County. In 1923 she moved to Yankton, SD with her parents where she was raised and educated. In 1936 she married Robert E. Pigg and they had one son, Larry E. Pigg. In 1940, they moved to Iowa and in 1942 they moved to Wyoming. They were later divorced. In 1947 she married Harold C. Muir in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In 1943 she worked at the Army Airbase as an engine mechanic until it closed. After that, Mary worked in small grocery stores. In 1947 she trained as a technician in physical therapy. She retired in 1971 from her work at Natrona County Hospital. Later she went to work at the Wyoming Medical Center as a file clerk and retired at the age of 70. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Norma Pigg, three grandchildren, Joan Gunnerson, Mike Pigg and his wife Natalie, and Scott Pigg and his wife Linda, eight great grand children and one great, great grandson. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her husband Harold Muir and her son Larry Pigg.
