Mary Grimble

Longtime Casper resident Mary Frances Grimble passed away peacefully in Casper on January 28th, 2013. Services are to be held Saturday March 2nd at 11:00 am at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper. Born Mary Frances Benton on March 4th, 1939, in Monticello, Iowa. Mary ,or as her family called her, "Babe", was the third child of Oliver Francis Benton and Mary Elizabeth Keith. Mary's first marriage to James Hart brought her first son Kenneth. Her second marriage to Richard Allen, 2 daughters, Tracy and Darcy. Her third marriage to Yogi Kliven brought 2 more kids into the fold, Dale and Tammy. Leaving Florida in the late 70's brought Mary and the family to Wyoming for work in the Glendo area. After a divorce Mary worked a number of jobs from waitressing to bar tending to cooking on area ranches, and for the most part spent her time in Wyoming, with an occasional sabbatical to Illinois or Florida to catch up with family. Mary was especially proud of her work in her later years as a Senior Companion. Working with her 'old people" was what kept Mary going on a regular basis. Whether grocery shopping, running errands or just getting out for a cup of coffee, Mary relished her time with her clients and made many friendships from her time. Mary also loved her dogs and squirrels. From her beloved Lance to Daisy to Gracie, Mary's dogs were her babies. She also had a fondness of hitting the Wonder Bread Store for treats to feed the squirrels in her front yard. However Mary's greatest love was for her family raising her kids, some grandkids and even great-grand kids. Mary is survived by her Mother, Mary Thurston of Auburndale, Florida, her brothers Butch (Mable) Benton of South Carolina, James (Barbara) Benton of Safety Harbor, Florida, Fred (Jane) Thurston of Auburndale, Florida. Also her children, Kenneth (Terry) Hart of Casper, Tracy (Brian) Gamroth of Casper, Dale (Kim) Kliven of Manly, Iowa, Darcy Gaines of Casper, and Tammy Thompson of Ames, Iowa. Mary is also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren. She also left behind special friends, Ivy and Mikey Johnson and Norma Hill. Mary was preceded in death by her father Oliver and sister, Dixie Cline. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made either to the Senior Center or the Senior Companion Program .
