Mary Fischer

Mary Fischer, 87, passed away November 24, 2012 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center, Casper, Wyoming, due to complications of Alzheimer's. Her family was at her side. She was born January 18, 1925 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Henry and Katherine (Schaub) Schaub. She had 10 siblings with whom she worked together on their family farm. Mary attended schools and graduated from Scottsbluff High School with the class of 1943. She then moved to California and was employed in the aircraft construction industry (AKA - "Rosie the Riveter'). On October 8, 1945 she married Donald L. Fischer in Santa Monica, California. After their marriage, they made their home in Nebraska until 1952 when they moved to Casper. In 1953 they opened Fischer Body Shop and operated it until their retirement in 1985. They had a son, Mickie, and a son Davey Lee, who died as an infant. Mary enjoyed camping and fishing with her late husband and family. She was an avid bowler and liked to play bridge. Mary loved flowers and spent time gardening. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include her son, Mickie (Arlene) Fischer of Casper; grandsons, Rodney (Shannon) Fischer and Corey (Kerry) Fischer, granddaughter, Wendy (Jay) Hensley, great granddaughters, Morgan (Brandon) Pemble and Ryan Hensley, great grandsons, Lane Fischer, Tanner Fischer and Shea Hensley. Also surviving are three great great grandchildren, Carson, Kaydence and Corbyn Pemble, all of Casper, plus several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, an infant son, Davey Lee, an infant granddaughter, Brenda Ann; 5 brothers, George, Harry, Rusty, Jake and Jerry Schaub, 5 sisters, Katherine Tripple, Alma Bolger, Bertha Rusch, Martha Russell and Lillie Hillenberg. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor John Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery.
