Marvin Harold "Shorty" Bryant was called home while surrounded by his loving family on December 15, 2014 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming at the age of 85. Marvin is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred Bryant, his daughter, Sandra Bryant and his son, Timothy Bryant, both of Casper, his sisters, Carol Summers of Casper, Judy Geiger of Casper and Barbara Quincy of Granite Falls, Washington, his grandchildren, David Bryant of South Dakota, Dustin Bryant of Casper, Scott Bryant of Colorado, Andrew LaPointe of Glenrock, Alisha Slaton of Kentucky and Gauge Bryant of Casper, his great grandchildren, Keifer, Brayden, Katarina, Tanner, Ethan, Chloe, Alexzander, Wrenee and Ashlynn. H also leaves behind his best friend, Buddy the Cocker Spaniel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jean Bryant of Kansas, his son, Steven Bryant of Casper and Larry Bryant of Casper, a brother Myron Bryant of Casper, and two great grandsons Philip and Caleb LaPointe of Glenrock. Marvin was born on March 12, 1929 in Lola, Kansas to Harold and Jean Bryant. In 1951 he was drafted into the Army and sent to Seoul, Korea where he served his country as a mechanic. On June 1, 1953 he married his love of 61 years. He worked as a mechanic for various companies but spent over 30 years in several positions at Maseks of Casper. He also spent about 7 years sharing his rich mechanical knowledge at Napa Auto Parts. Over the course of his lifetime, Marvin and Mildred welcomed four beautiful children, six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He devoted himself to his family and enjoyed many years of happy memories. He was always there for them whenever they needed him. Marvin was born with a wrench in his hand. An avid mechanic and classic car aficionado, Marvin could identify nearly every detail of most classic vehicles and would talk to anyone about them. His amazing story telling ability left his family with a rich history of his life. A history of a life of honest, hard work. A history of a man faithfully devoted to those who were dearest to him, his family. Marvin has touched many lives. Please join us in celebrating a life well lived. A service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Mike Cooper of College Heights Church officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Visitation will be Bustard's Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Memorials contributions to either the Humane Society or the Make a Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
