Marvelena Hulm

Marvelena Helena Hulm died peacefully September 22nd surrounded by family and friends at Central Wyoming Hospice. She had suffered from Alzheimer's disease for the past several years. She was born October 18th, 1929 to Adam and Helen Geffre Hulm in Timber Lake, South Dakota. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from High School in 1948. She moved to Denver in 1950 and worked for Gates Rubber Company as a secretary. Later she joined Martin Marietta as accounts payable supervisor, retiring in 1974. In 1975 she moved to Casper, Wyoming and was employed by Waterworks Industries Inc. as an office manager and later became the Corporate Treasurer where she became a valuable part of the management team. Mars took her duties at Waterworks very seriously and was very devoted and dedicated to her responsibilities. She retired in 2010 due to deterioration of her health. Mars was a member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church and was a very devoted parishioner. She enjoyed polka dancing and especially enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show as her parents grew up with Lawrence Welk in Strasburg, North Dakota in the 1920's. Mars was also an avid bowler. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers E. F. "Ole" Hulm, Alfred Hulm, Andrew Hulm, Leo Hulm and sister Rita Larson. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday September 25th. Graveside services to be held in Timber Lake, South Dakota on Thursday September 27th at 10:00 a.m.
