Martin David (Dave) Sallstrom, 82, died on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Life Care Center in Casper, Wyoming. Dave was born April 19, 1930 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Carl and Florence Sallstrom. He earned his Eagle Scout award, graduated from Scottsbluff High School, and earned an associate's degree from Scottsbluff Junior College in Engineering. Dave learned the plumbing trade from his father at an early age. Dave met Grace Elaine Folk at the First Christian Church in Scottsbluff and a year later married her on June 15, 1951. They lived in Nebraska, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Dave worked as a plumber, salesman, and sales manager before retiring in 1988. Dave became an accomplished distance runner after his retirement, winning many trophies and awards. He began running year round, as he and Grace became snowbirds - living in Casper during the summers and Yuma, Arizona through the icy winters. Dave always worked hard and was a man of integrity. He was predeceased by his brother Sidney and granddaughter Kayla McQuade. In addition to his wife, Grace, Dave is survived by his sisters, Ida Belle Renken of Yuma, Arizona, and Norma (Don) Wells of Gering, Nebraska; his three children, Mary (Joseph) McQuade of Casper, Janice (Terry) Canipe of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Richard (Paula) Sallstrom of West Bountiful, Utah; 20 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 1013 at the First Christian Church in Casper
