Martha Joan Linenberger of Casper, Wyoming, a homemaker, died on September 16, 2011 at the Wyoming Medical Center. She was 80 years of age. She had been a resident of Shepard of the Valley Care Center for the past three years. No services will be held. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home. She was born April 27, 1931 in Gentry County, Missouri. In 1950 she married Harold Baker and they had a daughter and son. They later divorced. In 1984 she married Bernard Linenberger of Laramie, Wyoming. They lived and worked in Laramie until retirement in 1990. She and her husband moved to Tucson, Arizona and later returned to Wyoming in 1993 and settled in Casper. Joan was the fourth child of five children born to Ray and Elsie Stockton. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Casper and attended regularly. She enjoyed her family and friends and loved to cook. She was also an avid sports fan and intensely loyal to the University of Wyoming athletic teams. Prior to her retirement in 1990 she was employed at the University of Wyoming for 27 years. She liked to travel and she and her husband regularly took trips both abroad and in the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elsie Stockton, three brothers, Marion, Delmar and Robert. She is survived by her husband, Bernard, her sister Gertrude of Cedar Hill, Texas, a daughter, Jennifer Grooms (Ted) of Casper, WY. and one son, Dennis Baker (Judy) of Casper, WY. One stepson, Bradford Linenberger (Irene) of Ogden, Ut. Six grandchildren, Nicholas (Maggie), Crystal, Jared, Jason, Benjamin and Brendan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
