Martha Horn

February 8, 1940 — May 28, 2015

Martha Elizabeth Stout Horn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 8, 1940 to Norman P. and Jane L. (Park) Stout. She grew up in Louisville, Kentucky until she moved to Casper in 1957 with her mother and brothers (Shelby and Philip) during her senior year of high school. Martha attended the University of Wyoming until 1963 and earned a Bachelor in Geography and Geology. After college she married John F. Cutler. Together they had three children; Frederick J., Katherine L. and Daniel T Cutler. She and the kids lived in Manhattan, New York, Manhattan, Kansas, Pocatello, Idaho and settled as a single mom in Casper, Wyoming. She met Barry Joe Horn and married him in 1974. Barry brought with him three children; Noreen, Ben, and Diane, that Martha loved as her own. Martha held several geology jobs, the last as a consulting hydro geologist for the Wyoming Oil and Gas Cons. Commission for 26 years. Her professional affiliations included WGA, AIPG (Certified), and AAPG. She was a registered professional Geologist in the State of Wyoming. She was active in Camp Fire, and the White Falcon Dance Teams. She was also involved in Desk Derrick. Survivors include Barry; her husband of 41 years, 5 children, and grandchildren; Dan, Sara and Emma Bahr, Stephanie and Brian Cutler, Mitchell, Scott and Brianne Rodgers, and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Shelby (Amy) and Phil (Jan) Stout. Martha tells of having a ridiculously happy childhood and a full and rewarding adult life. Martha passed away May 28, 2015 in Casper, WY. At her request, there will be no services and cremation has taken place.
