Marjorie Francis Taffner passed away May 24, 2012 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyoming. She was born May 12, 1922, Buffalo, Wyoming, the daughter of William Clinton and Lena (Ritter) Francis. She lived on a homestead south of Buffalo until age four then moved to the Kaycee area and started school in Kaycee. At age seven she moved with her family to the Three T (TTT) Ranch and finished grade school at the lower Willow Creek School. She started high school in Casper, WY, and then later moved to Buffalo to finish high school. Marjorie married Charles (Chuck) Taffner in 1946 in Harden. MT. They resided on a number of ranches in Johnson and Natrona counties, which included working for many years for the Moore families. Marge, as she was known by family and friends, was an extremely talented seamstress, a bookkeeper for several Buffalo business, and a homemaker. In 1981, Chuck and Marge bought a small place north of Kaycee and Chuck went into the construction business, with Marge commuting to Buffalo to work as bookkeeper/secretary for City Electric, from which she retired in 1983. After the death of her husband Chuck in 1996, she moved into Kaycee and lived there until 2010 she moved to Park Place Assisted Living in Casper, WY. She is survived by one daughter, Nicki (Taffner) Taylor of Kaycee, one son Rick Taffner and his wife, Gale of Wright, five grandchildren: Quinten Taylor - Kaycee, Crosby Taylor and wife Amanda - Kaycee, Brandi (Taylor) Gimbel and husband Jeff - Littleton, CO, Tara (Taffner) Bearden and husband Brook - Dublin, TX; Trevor Taffner and wife Tana - Wright, five great grandchildren - Quinn and Curtis Taylor (Crosby); Tymely and Trinity Taffner (Trevor); Gavin Taylor (Quinten); numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, her parents, six brothers and five sisters. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were an important part of her life and she loved and cherished time with them and family throughout her life. Marge had a strong faith in the Lord which was an important part of her life. A memorial service in Kaycee will be at a later date. Cremation has been held under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home.
