Services for Marjorie Nelson will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 28, 2010 at Bustard's Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis Kastor officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. Viewing will be at Bustard's Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Marjorie M. Nelson, 88, of Aledo, Illinois, formerly of Lebanon, MO and Casper, WY, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 21, 2010 at Aledo Health and Rehab. She was born March 24, 1922 in Scottsbluff, NE to Ernest and Edith McDonald Gremel. She was raised by Ernest and Ella Richards Gremel, graduated from Natrona County High School and married John A. Nelson on August 22, 1942 in Casper. Marjorie was a bookkeeper at the Soil Conservation Service, the True Drilling Co. and the Goodstein Oil Company, all in Casper, retiring in 1977. They retired to Lebannon, MO in 1980. She moved to Aledo following John's death in 1996. Her memberships include the Winter Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Bethel Baptist Church, both in Casper. She attended the First Baptist Church in Aleda, the Mercer County Senior Center. She enjoyed cake decorating, sending birthday cards, socializing and watching sporting events on television. Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Gene) Burke of Aledo, IL, son, Matthew (Karoline) Nelson of Townsend, MT, 7 granddaughters, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, daughter, Catherine and brother, Ernest preceded her in death. Condolences for the family may be left at bustards funeralhome.com.
