Marjorie Limmer

Marjorie Gladys Limmer went to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 13, 2013, while surrounded by her family in her home, which she loved. Marge was born September 10, 1916, to Charles and Pharis Jarrard on a homestead three miles east of Kaycee, Wyoming.She attended elementary school in Kaycee and graduated from Johnson County High School in Buffalo. She attended the University of Wyoming and received her teaching certificate. She taught school for one year at the Sutton school in the Kaycee area. Following her time teaching, she went to work cooking at the 3T Ranch where she met George Limmer. They were married on December 24, 1937. In 1949, they purchased a ranch on French Creek, northwest of Buffalo, Wyoming. They operated the ranch until 1969 when they retired and moved to Buffalo. In 1973, they purchased acreage on Sand Creek northwest of Buffalo. Following George's death in 1978, Marge remained at the ranch on Sand Creek and attended Northwest Community College for a year. She then went to work for the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce until 1996. In 1999 she moved to Restoration Ranch Retreat outside Casper to be closer to family. She lived there until her death. While she lived in Buffalo, she was an active member of the Jolly Jane's Homemakers Club and a member of the Wesleyan Church. In Casper she was a member of Restoration Church. Marge had a quick wit and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful cook and very hospitable. She cooked for anyone who stopped by, and at her table many people enjoyed meals that included her wonderful apple and cherry pies and potato rolls. She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, and her daughter, Bobetta Weaver. She is survived by her brother Harold Jarrard of Kaycee, one daughter, Deta (Dick) Dyar of Colorado Springs, CO; and two sons, Chris (Sue) Limmer of Powder River, and Dave (Beth) Limmer of Casper. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Services will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, June 17, at Restoration Church, 411 S Walsh. Graveside services will take place on Tuesday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at the Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Restoration Ranch Retreat, 17000 Restoration Road, Casper, WY 82604.
