Marjorie Louise Hamar died Saturday evening, 21 Sep 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, in Casper, WY. She was born in Neodesha, KS on 5 Feb 1923 to Dock & Mettie Alice Fenner. During WWII she worked with her dad on the evening shift at Parsons Army Armory Plant. Where she operated the machine that cut detonation cord various lengths for the various bombs made at the plant. After the war she worked at a printing shop in Neodesha, which put out the local paper and did print jobs for local businesses. On 6 Oct 1955 Marjorie married Curtis O. Hamar and moved to Casper, WY, where she lived as a housewife and mom. She enjoyed reading and was often the listening ear to many neighborhood children. When Curtis retired, they were active in the 1st Christian Church. They helped get the church bulletin ready for mailing and visited the sick in hospitals or nursing homes, giving them communion. Marjorie was the last of her siblings to go to live with Jesus. She was preceded in death by her parents Dock & Mettie Alice Fenner and siblings Leoma Johnson, Jessie Brown, Bessie Cole, James Fenner, Demia Fenner, & John Fenner. She is survived by her children Cary Hamar, Brenda Hamar, John Hamar, & various nieces and nephews, who considered her their favorite aunt. Services for Mrs. Marjorie Louise Hamar, 90, of Casper, WY, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, WY, with Dr. Dottie McCurdy officiating. Mrs. Hamar passed away September 21, 2013 in Casper, WY.
