Maribelle Alice Gaskell of Casper, Wyoming passed away unexpectedly March 2, 2024. Maribelle was born May 15, 1935, in Hayden Colorado, to Robert E. Griswold and Evelyn Griswold (Black).
Maribelle was a devoted gardener and avid reader who found comfort and solace among the flowers in her garden and the pages of her favorite books. Her sharp wit and keen intellect honed through years of work in the banking industry made her a force to be reckoned with, yet she was soft hearted when it came to her children, who were her everything. Maribelle grew up in Laramie and graduated from Laramie High in 1953. Maribelle’s love for the Wyoming Cowboys was a testament to her loyalty and unwavering support for the things she held dear. Her long and lifetime friendships were a cornerstone of her life, a source of laughter, comfort and cherished memories.
She was a beloved mother and was like a mom to many. Maribelle’s 40 plus years working at First Interstate Bank, Wells Fargo and Hilltop Bank were a testament to her dedication and tenacious work ethic. She worked until the age of 85 when Covid struck, even then her passion and pride for all her favorite things and loved ones never wavered. Maribelle will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her spirit continue to bloom in the hearts of those she loved, and may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her in the days to come.
Maribelle leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her son Kenneth D, Gaskell Jr. (Cindy) and their daughter Taylor Howe. Her daughter Kristi Lee Bowen (Michael) and their daughter Karson Lee Bowen.
In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her two nieces, Mariellen Miles Sullivan (Bob) and children Robert and Jennifer. Niece Patricia Miles. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Evelyn, father Robert, sister Joan Miles. and niece Lisa Bryant.
Burial to take place March 11, 2024, at Greenhill Cemetery in Laramie, Wyoming
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maribelle’s name may be made to: Lee McClune Braille Trail, or the Cowboy Joe Club at the University of Wyoming.
