Margaret Caroline (Schauss) Wyatt of Casper, Wyoming died at the age of 89 on Friday, January 11, 2013 at her home after a brief battle with cancer. Margaret was born in Casper, Wyoming on September 23, 1923 to Henry and Minnie (Bruggemann) Schauss. As a child she loved school and went on to graduate from Natrona County High School in 1941. She subsequently worked as an office manager at Rohlff Lumber Company until her marriage to the love of her life, Clinton Delwin Wyatt, on June 30, 1945, shortly after he returned from active duty in World War II. Clint owned and operated the Wyatt Service Station and Margaret pursued many volunteer and community service activities while raising their two children, Gary and Karen. With her very compassionate heart, Margaret gave her time and energy to people in need and to causes that she cared about, such as Manna Media, Aglow Prison Ministry, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. She put her Christian faith in action as she ministered to those less fortunate and led many prayer and Bible study groups. The greatest challenge of Margaret's life occurred when her beloved husband Clint died unexpectedly on May 11, 1989. She never remarried but dedicated her life to serving the Lord with devotion and love. Margaret wrote and published two books, "Gift of Years," co-authored with Lucy Woodward, and "My Friend Jesus," illustrated by Tracey Wyatt. When Margaret became homebound five years ago, she continued to help others even though she was confined to a reclining chair in her living room. She spent her days counseling and praying over the phone and telling delightful stories to the visitors who were fortunate enough to call on her. Many lives were transformed after an encounter with Margaret's pure faith and loving wisdom. Margaret loved being with her children and grandchildren and spending time at the Wyatt cabin in the Big Horn Mountains. She had many spiritual sons and daughters, all of whom were much-beloved and special to her, including Diane Holck and Ricky (Ra) Richards, who blanketed her with flowers on every occasion and made her feel very loved; Patrick Klein and the staff of Vision Beyond Borders who covered her with prayers on a daily basis; and Linda Zimmerman, who was always there to meet every need, day or night. Margaret was also deeply grateful to her nurse Chrysta and the rest of the staff of Amedisys Hospice whose compassionate care allowed her to remain at home for the final days of her life. Margaret is survived by her two children and their spouses Gary Walter Wyatt (Donna Williams) and Karen Marie Wyatt (Lawrence George); three grandchildren Tracey Wyatt Ross, Aaron George, and Emily George; one great-grandson Alex Ross; and also survived by her sister Eileen Schauss Coughlin (John Coughlin) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Delwin Wyatt; her parents, Henry and Minnie Schauss, her brother Robert Schuass, her niece Jolene Coughlin and her nephew Bill Schauss. Her older brother Ralph Schauss is also now deceased, having died just one day after Margaret's death. A Celebration of Life for Margaret will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 am at Restoration Church, 411 Walsh Drive, Casper, Wyoming, officiated by Pastor Dave Limmer.
