Margaret E Evans passed away peacefully Wednesday September 1st, 2010 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center where she was well loved and made many friends. Viewing will be Monday, September 6th, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Bustard's Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 7th at the First United Methodist Church in Casper with Rev. Steve Burnett officiating. Burial will be at the Oregon Trail VA Cemetery at 10:00 am prior to the service. Margaret was born February 10th, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas to Frances Elizabeth (Ellis) O'Brien and John Owen O'Brien. She moved to Coffeyville, Kansas when she was 9 and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1940. Upon graduation she attended Secretarial School in Tulsa, OK and then went to work in an Airplane Factory during the war. After the war she went to work for Pan American Oil Co and transferred with them to Casper in 1951, where her and two friends enjoyed site seeing all over the state until she met the love of her life, Jack C Evans. They were married June, 17th 1955. Margie was very creative and loved making things for her family and extended family. Everyone looked forward to her homemade gifts. She decorated cakes, made "Quillo's", crocheted blankets, made decoupage pictures, did all kinds of ceramics, and many other things. Survivors include two sons, Randy Evans of Casper and Kenneth Evans of Mesa, AZ. One Daughter, Laura Evans of Casper. One Grandson Mark D Medley, Jr. of Mesa AZ. One brother Paul (Arlene) Griffiths of Coffeyville, KS, Sister-in-law Nadine Griffiths of Kansas, One Brother-in law Robert Miller of Washington state, her niece Ann Huston of Sandpoint, ID, several other nieces and nephews, and many extended family members thanks to her husband Jack. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack, sisters Betty Miller and Joann Benning, brother Robert Griffiths and her parents. Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Casper or a charity of the donor's choice.
