Lucille Hoover

Lucille (Granny) Hoover, 84, of Casper passed away peacefully on April 19, 2013. She was born Jan 18, 1929 in Haskell, OK the daughter of Ephe and Mary (Covey) Dearing. On July 12, 1947 she married JD Hoover who preceded her in death Feb 2, 2010. JD and Lucy moved to Casper in 1951 where she was employed as a secretary in the trucking industry for many years. She loved singing, dancing, playing the piano and for the past nine years playing cards or games with her many friends at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, participating in the Monday night sing along performed by various Church groups and listening to the cowboy songwriter/singer Jim Fischer who so generously entertains the residents on Sunday afternoons. In their younger years JD and Lucy were active members of numerous square dancing clubs including the Caper Cutters, The Black Sheep and the Circle 8. She was an excellent cook and always wanted to feed everyone. Her family will greatly miss the many gatherings at her home enjoying the delicious meals she loved to prepare. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Ujvary and husband Joe of Casper, eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her two sons, Mike Hoover on Dec 7, 2001 and Rick Hoover on Sept 1, 2010, her parents, her two brothers and one sister. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 51 Primrose. The family will receive friends at the Bustard's Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank all of the dedicated staff of the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Wyoming Medical Center and Central Wyoming Hospice for the excellent care she received.
