Lorraine June Forgey was born on June 3, 1918 in Lewistown, MT to Aarel and Bessie (Norton) Sexton. As a child she lived in various places in ND, MT, ID and WY. She graduated from Melstone High School in Melstone, MT in 1936 where she lettered in basketball. She attended a business school in Billings, MT after graduation and then moved to Casper where she stayed with an aunt and went to work for the Snodgrasses, where she met her husband. They were married on March 14, 1938. She and her husband started the Forgey Construction Company in the late 1930s and later bought a ranch along the Rattlesnake Range in Natrona County. They worked hard at both for many decades. They raised three children Jim Rayburn, Del Rayburn and Lea Forgey Hood. They also offered hospitality to many relatives in their home for extended stays through the years. She was a Girl scout leader, strep-throat swabber and 4-H leader. She enjoyed attending the plays at the Gertrude Krampert Theater and going to community concerts. She supported health and wellness and education programs in the community through the Blue Envelope Drive and scholarships at Casper College and Phillips University. She was a member of First Christian Church for over 70 years and was active in Woman's Group, served on the Diaconate, the prayer chain, and on various boards. She also took on the responsibility of hospital visitation, and generously supported the programs of the church, foundations and Colorado Christian Home. She was a member of BPO Does, Daughters of the Nile, Cowbelles and served in various positions in those organizations. She also volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary and Meal-on-Wheels and served on their prospective boards. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, MX, South America, Australia and NZ, always stopping to look at the local livestock. They also enjoyed boating in Wyoming, Florida and the Pacific Northwest. After her husband's death, she continued to travel with family and friends to places in the US, Canada, the Panama Canal, Italy, Greece, and the Swiss Alps. She was always available when friends or relatives needed help or support. She loved playing cards, scrabble and other board games with friends and relatives, and to their chagrin, was prone to win more often than not. She made a point to attend the programs and graduation ceremonies of her grandchildren and they enjoyed spending time with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband O. B. (Joe) Forgey, two brothers, Wayne Sexton and Erval Sexton and two sisters, Luella Sexton Talbott and Sybil Sexton Cleverly and a great-great grandson, Riat Rayburn. She is survived by sisters Shirley Williams, Nadine Richards and Della Heutzenroeder. She is also survived by her boys, Del Rayburn (Evelyn) and Jim Rayburn (Jan), and daughter, Lea Hood (Marshall). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Norman Rayburn (Tina), Annette Rayburn, Sheri Hood Montano (Miguel), Scott Rayburn (Angela), Troy Rayburn, Linnea Hood Meline (Shawn), and Ben Hood (Sophie). Her great-grandchildren are Matt, Joylynn and Mark Rayburn, River Dula, Skyler Larsen, Dominic and Andrew Rayburn, Jasmin Rayburn Kerns, Deyssi, Myller and Linda Montano, Samantha and Elaina Meline, Elijah and Violet June Hood, and three great-great-grandchildren, Scott and Serenity Rayburn, Sophia Rayburn.
