Lois E. Swisher, a compassionate soul whose dedication to caring for others defined her life's work, passed away on February 3, 2024, in Casper, Wyoming. Born to Marvin and Helen (Hunt) Swisher on December 30, 1953, in Decater, Illinois; Lois leaves behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
For the majority of her life, Lois dedicated herself to the medical industry as a nurse. Her commitment to helping those in need was unwavering, and her kindness touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues. Known affectionately as the "Cranky Nurse," Lois brought a sense of humor and irreplaceable wit to her profession that endeared her to many.
Despite facing challenges from a young age, such as breaking her collar bone before the age of two while climbing on the fridge in pursuit of adventure, Lois never lost her spirit of curiosity and determination. Her resilience was evident in both her personal and professional life, serving as an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.
Survived by her sister, Mary Trudo, and son, Larry Edgar Russell, Lois leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones that can never be filled. Her memory will live on in the stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know her and learn from her wisdom.
A reception gathering to honor and celebrate Lois's life will take place at 1:00pm, on April 19, 2024, at Bustard and Jacoby Reception in Casper, Wyoming.
