Lloyd Cohee

Lloyd Leroy Cohee Sr., 91, of Casper Wyoming passed away peacefully at his home in Garden Square. Lloyd was born on March 06, 1920 to Roy and Helen (Chambers) Cohee in Gillette, Wyoming. He graduated from Cody High School in 1938 and attended the University of Wyoming. He joined the United States Army in 1942, proudly serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant. He owned and operated a restaurant in Casper prior to a thirty eight year career in the trucking industry. In 1966, he founded C&Y Transportation Company with partner Eddie Young of Gillette. He was a past member of the Lions Club and the Wyoming Trucking Association. After retiring in 1987 he enjoyed wintering in Arizona, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. Lloyd is survived by his sisters, Veva Lowe and Joan Orr, sons, Roy (Barbara) Cohee of Casper, Peter (Ginette) Cohee of Milton, MA, Kevin Cohee of Casper and daughters Gwen (Cohee) Brown, Neil Worth, and Rita (Maurice ) Elmore all of Casper and Kelly (Ken) Richard of Merritt Island, FL and grandchildren, Sean (Theresa) and Shelly Cohee , Sarah (Scott) Hutcheson, Leighla Miller, Jaret Spencer, Thomas and Kate Brown, Jesse Richard, Jenny Lynne (Dennis) McKinney, Matthew (Mica) Elmore, Ian and Philip Cohee, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Patrick, Alvin, and Michael and sisters, Audrey, Barbara, and Norma. Memorial services will be held at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery Chapel at 11:00 on Friday, October 14, 2011 with Pastor Bruce Sell, Liberty Baptist Church, officiating Military Honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations and memorials may be sent in Mr. Cohee's name to Casper Lions Club or donor's choice. Cremation has taken place.
