Llewellyn M. (Moore) Pedersen, age 80, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Bayeux, France. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, on August 16th, 2024 at the Paradise Valley Christian Church in Casper, Wyoming.
In leu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Paradise Valley Christian School, or the mission Behold Israel, in care of Paradise Valley Christian Church, 188 Valley Drive, Casper, WY 82604.
Llewellyn M. Pedersen was born February 24, 1944 to Thomas and Clara (Matheson) Moore in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She graduated from Brazosport High School, Freeport, Texas in 1962; while in high school she was the only girl to be picked to be a member of the chemistry club. Following high school Llewellyn attended the University of Texas (UT) where she earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in chemistry and geology.
Llewellyn moved to Big Piney, Wyoming in 1983 and instantly fell in love with the mountains. While living in Big Piney she met her husband Bruce C. Pedersen; they were married on August 19, 1984, in Neligh, NE. The couple lived in Big Piney, Wyoming; Lawrence, Kansas and settled in Casper, Wyoming in 1987.
Prior to Llewellyn moving to Wyoming she worked at TraCor, in Texas, on various military projects. While living in Big Piney she worked in the library, surrounded by books that she loved; later in Kansas she proof read periodicals and dissertations for PhD student candidates attending the University of Kansas, and became a Mary Kay consultant. Upon moving to Casper, she served as an election judge for Natrona County for 22 years and was a Precinct Committee Woman, she also taught mathematics, and chemistry for 6 years at Paradise Valley Christian School.
Llewellyn was a member of the Paradise Valley Christian Church in Casper for 37 years. She was also very active in the Casper Christian Women’s Club, the Natrona County Historical Society, the Campaign for Liberty Committee, the Osher Lifelong Learning (OLI) at the Casper College, was a Mary Kay beauty consultant for over 35 years and participated in the Wyoming Senior Olympics.
Llewellyn enjoyed traveling having visited Israel 4 times, Europe and Canada once, and camping all over her beloved Rocky Mountain range. She also enjoyed reading, studying the bible, learning anything new about nature, spending time with family and friends, and photography. Llewellyn had a constant desire and never-ending thirst for learning as she was constantly taking classes and trying new things.
Llewellyn is survived by her husband of almost 40 years Bruce Pedersen of Casper, Wyoming; children April and Corey Falzone of Bondurant, Iowa; Curtis and Jessica Pedersen of Highland Ranch, Colorado; Matthew and Christy Pedersen of Casper Wyoming; and Bradley Pedersen of Casper, Wyoming; brother Eric Moore and wife Jenny of Lake Jackson, Texas; sister-in-law Judy Cole of Neligh, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law Boyd and Carolyn Pedersen of Clearwater, Nebraska; grandchildren Alan and Rachael Pedersen, Blaine and Rachelle Pedersen, Luke Pedersen, Lauren and Brent Flaherty, Jared and Taylor Falzone, Faith Pedersen, Lane Pedersen, Kailie, Emily and Ryan Pedersen; great grandchildren Max Pedersen, and Rebekah, Elizabeth, Matthew and Lydia Flaherty; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
She was proceeded in death by her parents.
