Linda Kammerer

Linda Rea Kammerer “Granny", 64 of Northglenn, CO passed away unexpectedly on November 21st, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born on October 2nd, 1955 in Casper, WY, Daughter of Newell Rake and Helen Rake (Harris).

She grew up in Casper, WY and attended Garfield Elementary school, Dean Morgan Junior High School and Natrona County High School. She graduated with her GED from Casper College in 1999 after deciding to pursue more education for her passion for writing.

She was a Doe at the Casper Elks Lodge for many years and enjoyed going to all of the Elks Lodge functions. Linda was a very kind, caring, loving, sensitive, funny and giving person who loved everyone with her whole heart. She would do anything for anyone and she was everyone's “Granny". She enjoyed anything outdoors, fishing, spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren) writing and her three dogs Bella, Beans and Beaver.

Linda married the love of her life Ed Kammerer on March 30th, 2003 and moved to Denver, CO where she worked for the Denver Public School System. She continued her education for the Denver Public School System earning many certificates including her Senior Purchasing Buyer Certificate until she retired in 2017. She took great pride in her accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents Newell Rake and Helen Rake (Harris], and her younger brother Newell Rake Jr.

She is survived by her Husband Ed Kammerer; Brother Dave Rake and Nephew Chris Rake of Casper, WY; Son Rick Portz and Grandson Cooper Portz of Casper, WY; Daughter Sarah Thiel (Josh Thiel) and Grandchildren, Damon Hunt, Mackenzie Hunt and Rylee Thiel of Spring, TX;

Stepdaughter Katy Hough (Travis Hough] and Grandchildren, Elizabeth Cutlip, Yasmina Lagania, Patrick Hough, Collin Hough and Daniel Hough of Pittsburgh, PA;

Stepdaughter Marge Kammerer of Englewood, CO;

Stepdaughter Jennifer Kammerer and Grandson Tyler Soulek of Monument, CO;

Stepson Edward P Kammerer (Julie Kammerer) and Grandchildren, Jacob Kammerer, Kyle Kammerer, Claudia Kammerer and Claire Kammerer of St. Joseph, MO, 4 1/2 Great Grandchildren and many other close friends she considered family.

Services for Linda Rea Kammerer “Granny" will be held on Saturday November 30th, 2019 at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper, WY at 10:00am, with a graveside service to follow as well as a reception afterwards at the Casper Elks Lodge. There will also be a Celebration of Life for Linda at the Northglenn Elks Club in Northglenn, CO on Monday December 2nd, 2019 at 1:00pm with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.
