Linda Rae (McKinney) Bates passed away on September 13,2017 at Wyoming Medical center due to heart complications. Linda was born on February 7, 1948 in Cheyenne Wyoming to Mildred and Cecil McKinney. She was born a twin but sadly he died at birth. Linda lived the majority of her life in Casper, Wyoming. In 1970, she met the man she with whom spend the rest of her life with, Richard (Dick) Bates. Combined they had fifteen children. Sadly, Linda and Dick lost two of their children, Vance and Ramona along with Linda's brother Alan in a boating accident. Linda always found herself surrounded by family. Not only was she a great mother, but she loved taking care and helping people no matter their age or needs. As a grandmother, she immensely enjoyed taking care and attending school events of her youngest grandchildren. She is survived in death by her numerous grandchildren who are; Shaina, Jason, Rachel, Kaylee, Galatia, Corinthia, Madi and her little man Quintin. Linda became a mother figure to many non-related and local neighborhood kids who were not her own. Among many of things gardening, cooking, Sewing, crocheting, and anything to do with family is what mattered most. While working for the Natrona County School Dist., Linda soon became friends with everyone she met or worked with. A lot of Linda's friends became an extension of her already large family. Linda's time was cut short, but everyone who knows her knows she will be deeply loved and missed for a long time to come. Linda was proceeded in death by her Husband, mother and Father, three Brothers, a sister, three children and one grandchild. Linda is survived by her Sister Nora (Buck) Parker, five children- Maralee (Matt) Stottlemyer, Kenny (Jamie) Bates, Susan Bates, Mark Bates and Karen Bates. Six step children- Cynthia Bates, Richard (Carol) Bates, Nancy (Jerry) Hunt, Elizabeth Bates, Janette McCoy, John (Sherry) Bates, Becky Harrison. Also, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
