Memorial Services for Linda Madeline Peterson Ackerly will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 1240 S Missouri Ave Casper, WY 82609. She passed on October 5, 2015 at her home with her husband and daughter after walking and feeling the sweet taste of independence. This marked the close to her battle with a brain tumor and stroke at the age of 65. Born in Greybull, WY on May 2, 1950, to Charles W. and Madeline Peterson, who precede her in death. She leaves her family with a foundation of love and gratitude; Paul Ackerly, husband of 45 years, her children Ernie and Elaine Ackerly, daughter in-law, Shelly Ackerly, grandchildren Darren Hauk, Dillon & Colton Ackerly, Trinity Cerza, Tyler Verow, siblings, Chuckie, Susan, Bobby, Kerry, Alan Sr and MaryNell, Aunt Florence Peterson, and too many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews to list. Linda had a passion for horses her whole life and was Rodeo Queen of the Bighorn Basin in her teens. This passion was carried on and she created a home on Hat Six outside of Casper to share with her husband, a herd of horses, and her pack of dogs. This was her own piece of heaven that she was able to sit and work from, the mountains as her backdrop. She was a strong example of her Christian faith, even bringing her husband's childhood friend, Phil Grovenstien to the Lutheran church which started him down the path to become a pastor and missionary. Through him, her love and faith can be traced as far as Seirra Leone. She walked this globe as her parents had taught her to, to never meet a stranger and to offer help to those who need it. Her intelligence was apparent in every job she took on and she made work fun for those on her teams, leaving a long list of friends everywhere she went. She will be remembered and cherished for her optimism and joy she used to support the people in her life; near and far. Donations can be made to her GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/v545m5zs
