Lessie Pierce

December 13, 1946 — October 25, 2015

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Minister Lessie Bernice Pierce (PeeWee). Born December 13, 1946 to Evelyn Steger and Jack Rose in Midland Texas. On November 29, 1972 she married her soulmate Rev. William H. Pierce in Casper, WY. Together they raised 5 children. To know Lessie was to love her. Her presence commanded respect, provided great comfort, and showed great love. She was a woman of great compassion, unwavering convictions, and unshakable faith. She never did anything halfway and nothing was too large of a task. She reactivated the Casper NAACP and founded the Wyoming Juneteenth Celebration in Casper. Lessie was passionate about helping others any way she could. Ministering at their church Imitate the Image was one of the many ways she was able to take care of others. Lessie not only ministered to people about the love of Jesus but she showed it in her everyday life. She was a member of Troopers Bingo; she enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, Bible study, garage sales and dancing. Lessies passing leaves a hole in our hearts and community but particularly the hearts of her husband of almost 43 years, William H. Pierce of Casper; step-daughter, Willette Riggs of Tulsa, OK; Daughters Neicole Molden of Torrington, WY, Jacqueline Pierce and Tiera Rimmer both of Casper; son William H. Steger of Casper; Sisters Gracious Rimmer of Casper and Barbara Anne Jackson of Cleveland, OH; as well as a host of grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters Una Mae Tolton, Mattie Mae Shelton, Oneida Clark, and Ole Mae Moore; brothers R.K. Ghoston Jr., Leroy Ghoston, and Eddy G. Ghoston. If we have made any errors or left out any names; please except our apologies. Funeral services for Lessie will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Imitate Image Ministries, 1124 North Elma, Casper, WY, with Rev. Charles Jackson of Jefferson City, MO officiating. Interment will follow services at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, WY. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Imitate the Image Ministries, 813 North Washington Street, Casper, WY 82601.
