A Funeral Mass for Leo A. Moore, 60, will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church by Fr. Lucas Simango. Vigil for the Deceased will be recited at 7:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2012 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Leo A. Moore of Mills, Wyoming passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at his home. He was born May 1, 1951 in Sparta, Wisconsin to Owen and Mary Moore. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary. Leo is survived by his two sons James and Beau and their mother Terry Moore; his mother Lawanda, who raised him after the death of his birth-mother Mary; brothers Mike, Bruce, Otis and Kevin; and sisters Anita and Anna. Leo was a graduate of the class of 1969 from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He strived to have an excellent work ethic and used that to provide for his family. He married Terry Hamilton December 22, 1979, and they moved to Wyoming, where Leo had followed the construction industry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. After working for the City of Casper Water Service, he went back to school earning degrees in Construction Technology and Drafting and Design Technology from Casper College, while also working for the college. Many will remember Leo as a constant figure of Casper Youth Baseball throughout the 1990's. He found great joy in his roles of coach, director, tournament coordinator, and general fan of youth baseball. During this time, his focus was on providing the most opportunity and best experience for the youth of Casper. He furthered these efforts by going on to contribute to the Casper Family YMCA. Leo served the YMCA as the Facility Director beginning in 2002 and helped to revitalize the culture there, with emphasis on the YMCA's mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. He had no greater sense of pride than seeing his work improve the quality of life of the children and members of the community. Leo might not have said this in so few words, but he would want to be remembered for always having the best intentions and trying to work hard enough to see them through. He was a selfless person and always put others before himself. Donations may be made to the Casper Family YMCA.
