Memorial services for Leland (Lee) Eugene Garner will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Bustard's Funeral Home with Chaplain Royce Brown officiating. Cremation has been held under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home. Mr. Garner, 81, died peacefully at his home under Hospice Care on February 12, 2011. Mr. Garner was born January 15, 1930 in Osceola, Iowa, the son of James (Mike) Delbert and Bessie Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alice Mae Fouche and Fairy Garner of Iowa, brothers, John William, Donald and Edwin Garner, all of Iowa. He leaves behind brothers, Leroy Garner of Wyoming, Eldon and Hattie Garner of Iowa and Larry Garner of California. Also surviving us his wife of 58 years, Clara (Corkey), daughters, Suzanne Garner of California and Beverly Pollock of Wyoming; grandchildren, Danney, Lacey, Keith, Echo and Stephanie, all of Wyoming and his pride of six great grandkids. He and Clara were married May 25, 1952 and began their journey. In 1951, he served in the US Navy until 1955. At that time he moved to Wyoming where he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until 1961. In July, 1961 they moved to southern California and built their home. He worked as a machinist mechanic for Textron until 1980. They then returned home to Wyoming where he was owner of Lee's Auto Electric in Mills, Wyoming. He then retired. He was a wonderful man who shall be missed by all who knew him. The family gives special thanks to Central Wyoming Hospice for their warm, tender care through the last months of his life, allowing him to pass in comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations to either Hospice or the family would be greatly appreciated.
