Larry Gene Castleman was born to William James and Ida Belle Castleman in Casper Wyoming 2/8/1950 the last child of 7. He passed gently into the arms of Jesus March 20, 2018 after a long battle with renal failure: he believed in quality of life over quantity of life. He died quietly at home with loved ones by his side. Larry had previously donated a kidney to his sister Carol. Larry loved being outdoors and working hard, he graduated from Kelly Walsh and was state varsity in football and basketball, and he loved hunting and fishing, having some of his best times in the forest and rangelands. His favorite picture was of him and his wife on a camping trip into the Shoshone Wilderness area. His real love was working the farm and ranch, and being the finest oilfield rig up builder in the U.S.A. since 1969. Larry built the best rig up trucks in the industry and those trucks and trailers carry on his ingenuity and skill for those who use them and understand them to admire. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers: Paul and Wayne, sisters Bonnie, Christine, Carol, and Sue. He is survived by his wife and partner of 35 years Kate, ex wife Janet, sons Larry D (Niki) and Clark Allen, daughters Shelly, Angelena (Merle), and Genie (Jim), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and the family dogs: Rosie, Emmett, and Dakota. At Larry's request no funeral will take place and a private internment of his cremations will be held later this spring. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Black and Gold Grill in Casper, Wyoming. Please come with open hearts and memories of Larry to share. Donations can be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or the charity of your choice.
