Kristi Hungary

Kristi Lynne Hungary of Casper passed away Friday August 4, 2017 with her family by her side. She is survived by her children Alicia Jordan (Dan Jordan), Sharon Darr, and Steven Hungary (Rachel Hungary); sister Sharon Meusch; brother Bob Darr (Hannah Darr); grandchildren Renata Riddle-Orr, Krystal Gancarski, David Mangus and Analisa McDonner; great grandchildren Brianna, Alex, AJ, Adriannah, Evan, and DeeJay; bonus son Michael Vigil, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Kristi was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Ramona Hungary, brother-in-law Ted Meusch, and grand-daughters MaryAnne Kristine and Heather Dawn. Kristi was born in Deadwood South Dakota on August 23, 1947 to Robert L. Darr Sr. and Connie Mikelthun Darr. She was raised in Lead South Dakota until the age of ten when her family relocated to Lander Wyoming to operate the Darr Funeral Home. Kristi resided in Lander until 1994 when she relocated to Casper. She had a storied career working everywhere from Ben Franklin and the Wyoming State Training School to U.S. Steel; however her most rewarding career was being a mother and homemaker. Kristi married Harley Hungary of Ethete Wyoming in 1963 and had four children. They later divorced but stayed good friends until his death in 2014. Kristi loved her family fiercely and was proud of each of her children and all their accomplishments. Her big heart and compassion found a cause in animal rescue, both of her ‘boys' Mr. Smooth and Chester were rescue kitties. She loved to cheer for her Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. She loved Christmas above all other holidays, so it was fitting her kids sent her to a Broncos game for Christmas one year. She loved to laugh and her smile would brighten anyone's heart. Although we find comfort that Kristi is no long suffering and is at peace, we mourn the loss of such a kind, empathetic, compassionate and loving presence in our lives. Services for Kristi Lynne Hungary will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Bustard's Funeral Home.
