Kosta "Gus" Kamboris, 81, fell asleep in the Lord, February 19, 2015, at Life Care Center of Casper. A native of Casper, Gus was born April 5, 1933, to Pete Mike and Argeri (Capen) Kamboris. Upon the passing of his father in 1945, Gus and his siblings, Yeota and Nick, helped their mother run the West "B" Grocery Store, located in the famous Sandbar. The family continued to run the grocery store until closing it in the late 1950s. In addition to the grocery store, the family owned rental property in the Sandbar area until its urban development in the 1970s. Gus graduated from Natrona County High School in 1951 and from Casper College in 1953, where he proudly was elected Student Body President. Gus received his Bachelor of Science-Business Administration degree from the University of Denver in 1955. While attending school in Denver, Gus worked as an accountant at University Pharmacy. He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, international honorary accounting society and Alpha Kappa Psi, professional business fraternity. Stationed in Pittsburgh, PA, Gus served two years with the United States Army. Upon his return to Casper in 1959, Gus resumed his position as an accountant in the offices of Earl R. Johnson, CPA. In December 1960, at the wedding of George and Orsinia (Karantzas) Lapaseotes, Gus met Georgia Constantine Lepinotes of Grand Junction, CO. Gus and Georgia announced their engagement in March 1961 and were married August 20, 1961 in Grand Junction, CO. Gus received his Certified Public Accountant certification in February, 1964 and opened his private practice in the basement of the Wyatt Hotel, property owned by Gus and his brother, Nick. In addition to his long-standing CPA practice, Gus owned and operated various businesses and establishments in the downtown Casper area throughout the years. Gus also taught a night class, Beginning Accounting, at Casper College from 1964 - 1969. Gus was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (Casper, WY) and past President and Member Emeritus of the Parish Council, having served as President of the Parish Council for over 25 years. Gus was a charter member of Independence Rock Lodge No. 56 A.F. and A.M., the York Rite Bodies in Casper, Wyoming; a member of the Casper Elks BPO Lodge #1353; and a member of the Casper Shrine and Korein Temple. He played in the Shriner's Oriental Band, and in 2012, he received the Faithful Noble of the Mystic Shrine Lifetime Achievement award for 50 years of service. Gus was defined by his love of family and friends. He actively attended all events surrounding his children and grandchildren, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife, children and their families. His favorite past time was playing all types of card games, but he particularly enjoyed poker, Panguingue and Pinochle. He reveled in teaching and guiding his children and grandchildren. He was a faithful friend, confidante and consultant to many, and he always had a joke to brighten the day. Gus officially retired as a CPA in 2011.
