Kenneth John Gebhardt, 58, of Casper passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Ken was born in Great Falls, Montana on December 2, 1955 to Ruben and Dorothy (Armstrong) Gebhardt. Ken grew up in the Sun River Valley, graduating from Simms High School. He was active in all sports and would arrive early to greet teachers and classmates as they came in the door. Growing up Ken worked for various ranchers in the Sun River Valley earning the reputation of a hard worker. He attended airplane mechanic school in Helena Montana and later graduated from Missoula Vocational Technical Center. While in Missoula, he met and married his greatest love, Susan Russell. In the spring of 1978, Ken and Susan moved to Casper, Wyoming where Ken began his 36 year career at Wyoming Machinery Company. Ken made friends everywhere he went and was easy to be around. He was a good and honest man. Ken had many interests; among them were family reunions, raising horses and hunting, including a trip to South Africa. Ken belonged to the Elks Lodge, enjoying dances and other social functions. His greatest love was his family. They include sons, Russell Gebhardt (Fallon) and Jesse Gebhardt. His role as Papa to Brooklynn, Justin and Krymson was unconditional. Ken is survived by his wife of 36 years, two sons, his mother Dorothy Gebhardt, brothers and sisters: Duane (Kathy) Gebhardt of Cascade, Montana, Ruby (Doug) Miller of Troy, Montana, Keith (Karen) Gebhardt of Leonard, Minnesota, Gary (Sue) Gebhardt of Woodland, Washington, Sandra (Eric) Means of Snohomish, Washington and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son, Jason Gebhardt and his father, Ruben Gebhardt. Services will be held on November 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 302 E. 2nd Street Casper, Wyoming, followed by a fellowship gathering at the church.
