Katherine Jacquot

September 27, 1915 — October 29, 2010

Katherine Mable Frisby Jacquot passed away on October 29 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper. Mable, as she was known, was born in Casper on September 27, 1915 to Bessie (Snyder) and Jonathan E. Frisby. The family lived at Fort D.A. Russell (now Warren Air Force Base) during World War I while Captain Frisby was serving in France and moved back to Casper in 1919. She attended McKinley School and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1932. She worked for C.J. Devereaux and Talbert Typewriter Exchange before marrying Francis W. Jacquot in 1936. While she was at home with her sons she did manuscript typing and stenographic work as well as participating in the school throat swabbing program and serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother. The family moved to Caldwell, Idaho in 1948 and returned to Casper in 1952. She was then employed by Talbert Office Equipment and Natrona County School District No. 1 where she served as secretary to Superintendent Maurice Griffith. Mable retired in 1976 and the couple traveled extensively in the United States and Canada. For over seven decades Mable was dedicated to her family and was always helpful to neighbors and friends. She was a gracious hostess to many family visitors and always had another place at the dinner table for friends of the family. She was a special lady to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, in 1987, her parents, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by four sons, Raymond (Janice) of Laramie, Neal of Casper, Jon of Cheyenne and Fred (Judy) of Casper, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Wayne Frisby of Arroyo Grande, California. She was a member of the Casper Retired Teachers Association and held a life membership in the Wyoming PTA. Bustard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts can be made to Shepherd of the Valley Care Center, 60 Magnolia Rd., Casper, WY 82604 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
