Karen Underwood-Garduno, 51, of Casper, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2018. She was born in Casper on August 1, 1966 to Elmer and Doris Underwood. Growing up, Karen attended Grant Elementary, Dean Morgan JH and NCHS. Karen was a single mother of three boys. She graduated from Casper College, and continued on to earn her Bachelor's of Social Work from the University of Wyoming. After receiving her degree, she worked for Circle C Resources and was once awarded Employee of the Year. Later, she became a private Case Manager through the State of Wyoming. Karen had a heart of gold. At an early age she always knew she wanted a career helping others, and she worked very hard to achieve that dream. In 2013, Karen married the love of her life, Michael Garduno, and the two of them continued to raise her boys to adulthood. Karen loved the outdoors and rock-hounding for agates with her dog and kids. She was a loving, dedicated wife and mother, and family was everything to her. She would do anything within her power to help anyone who needed it. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, father, and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Mike, her loving sons Austin Hoffman, Nicholas Bunney and Tyler Bunney, step-children, Cheyenne Wheeler and Fennis Garduno, five grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Underwood of Casper and Terry Childers of Atascadero, CA, and sister Wendy Schulte of Casper. Karen will be dearly missed by her family. No funeral services will be held at Karen's request.
