A gentle soul has slipped the surly bonds of earth and touched the face of God. Justin Sonny Leon Stokes was welcomed into this world by his sister, Leigh, and parents, Gary and Vivian Stokes, on Friday, November 16, 1973 in Casper, WY. Justin attended Southridge Elementary, CY Junior High, and Natrona County High School where he excelled in wrestling, basketball, soccer, and track, qualifying for the US Hershey track and field competition. Although a talented athlete, his true passion was music and percussion. Justin earned a full music scholarship to the University of Wyoming and graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art. Justin played drums for many bands, most recently IndiSoul. Music fed Justin's soul. Justin worked in the field of sales for Cameron Valves and most recently FabTech as a procurement agent. Justin was a loyal, devoted, and hard-working employee. But when the energy market crumbled, Justin retrained himself at The Barber School in Midvale, Utah, and began his new career at the Rialto Barber Shop in Casper. Justin treasured family time: snowmobiling on Casper Mountain, fishing and boating at Alcova Lake, and doting on his niece and nephew. Justin will be remembered for his sweet smile, sunny disposition, and generous heart. Justin will be forever missed by his parents, Gary and Vivian; sister, Leigh Andrea-Stokes Shaw; brother-in-law, Garth Shaw; niece, Hannah, and nephew, Liam; Uncle Paul (Diane) Becquart; Aunt Barbara (Alan) Van Vuuren; cherished cousins, Scott, Mike and Todd Van Vuuren, Brian Becquart and Brenda Glode; and his loving and devoted pet companion, Bandit. Justin was welcomed at the end of his journey into the arms of his grandparents, Leon and Hannah Becquart of Cody, WY and Sonny and Jean Stokes of Fort Morgan, CO. No services will be held. Donations may be made in Justin's name to the Casper Humane Society.
