Julie Bellamy

Julie Ann Bellamy (60) passed away January 27, 2018 at home surrounded by family members. She was born December 25, 1957, in Casper, Wyoming to Frank M. Bellamy Jr. and Ella Eugenia Bellamy. She was raised in Casper, where as a child she was involved in basketball and volley, playing on the city championship team. She was always interested in people and trying to make people happy even though she was an extremely shy child. She also had a very artistic soul, painting, sculpturing, and also doing crafts. She attended Westwood Elementary and CY Junior High. She attended Natrona County High School, graduating in 1976. She went on to get a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, majoring in Criminology. She volunteered at Seton House when finishing her degree from Rocky Mountain University in Billings, MT. Since she was a Christmas baby, she grew up loving the Christmas season. She loved making presents, candy, and treats for people. She loved the spirit of the season. She loved putting up decorations and having lots of lights. She and her mother had a tradition of starting their Christmas season in July and watching the sales together. Julie would always buy her mother one special Christmas decoration every year at the "Christmas in July" sale. Even when she was in intensive care one year, she and mom did the Christmas in July thing and she bought her mother a special Christmas decoration. She even requested that when she passed no matter what time of year it was, she did not want to leave a dark house. We were to make sure that there were Christmas lights on lighting the house. Julie started her life long fight with health problems at an early age. No matter how much pain she was in or how sick she felt, she always thought of others. Her whole focus seemed to be making life better for others and for animals. When she was high school her hero was Frazier the lion. She always had a great love for elephants, wolves and whales. She said it did her soul good to go to a sanctuary in South Dakota and just listen to the lions grunting and roaring. She had a gentle personality and could not even kill a fly. Her pets were part of her family. She loved making special cakes and posters in themes for her niece's and nephew's birthdays. She seemed to have a connection with every living thing. Julie served many, many years as the person directing compassionate service in her ward in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was a job that she loved, making sure that people were taken care of when they were sick or in need. She seemed to be in-tune with when someone needed something. Julie fought cancer three years ago and won. Then two years ago she had two masses taken out of her heart in open heart surgery. This last year she developed an aggressive form of cancer of an unknown type. She fought hard to spend one more holiday season with her family. When she was not given much time she had the goal of living through the holidays and the birthday of her niece and her sister in January. She was able to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family, and she also made it through her niece's birthday. Julie left this world the day before her sister's birthday. Through all of this she was still thinking of what she could do for others, making presents for the holidays and upcoming birthdays even though she as bedridden at the end. Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her parents, her sisters Ella Jean, and Patty-Jo, by her niece, Angelina Bellamy and her nephew, Donald Bellamy, aunts and uncles and many cousins, and by many foster Brothers and Sisters with their families. Julie was a gentle, sensitive, friendly, artistic, intelligent, and an insightful woman, who has left a legacy of caring and making people feel loved and valued. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend to the world. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 19th and Poplar Street, with visitation at 8:00 AM prior to the funeral.
