Joseph Bordeaux

Joseph (Joe) Fred Bordeaux 75, passed away on July 29, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on May 6, 1940, in Casper, Wyoming to Joseph R. and Jessie M. (Bush) Bordeaux. Joe graduated from Natrona County High School in 1959. He enlisted in the Wyoming National Guard in February, 1959. He trained at the U.S. Army Medical Training Center, Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He graduated from the Brooke Army Medical Center in February of 1960. Joe was Honorably Discharged from the Wyoming National Guard in 1967. Joe married Vickie L. Coles Bordeaux on July 24, 1965. They have two children, Darren J. Bordeaux and Debra L. Bordeaux Shelburg. They have seven grandchildren. Joe attended Casper College, where he was certified in carpentry. He worked for the Carpenter's Union and helped build many of Casper's buildings and homes. Joe went to work for Terra Resources and all of the subsequent companies that purchased Terra Resources. He worked in all phases of the oilfield business, as a roustabout, a pumper, and in the office. He worked for Terra for 18 years. Later he worked for Custom Energy Construction Co., until he suffered an injury and was forced to retire. Joe loved to hunt and fish and would not have wanted to live anywhere but in Wyoming. He loved to hike in the Wyoming Mountains and fish every Wyoming creek that he came upon. Joe belonged to Pathfinder Masonic Lodge No. 42, York Rite and the Casper Shrine Club. Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vickie, his children, Darren (Karen) Bordeaux, Debra (Mike) Shelburg, grandchildren, Tyler Bordeaux, Ashley Bordeaux and Allison Bordeaux, Damien (Jess) Shelburg, Zachary Shelburg, Jennifer (Eric) Shelburg Wilson, and Tristan Shelburg. His parents were awaiting his arrival in Heaven, as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Joe will be missed by all who knew him. Joe's ashes will be buried in his parents' grave sites. Memorial services will be held at Highland Cemetery at 10:00 AM, August 3, 2015.
