Jolene Cotton

July 23, 1954 — November 24, 2014

Jolene E Cotton, July 23, 1954 - November 24, 2014 Jolene was born on July 23, 1954 to Lyle and Betty Puettman in Casper, Wyoming. She was called to heaven on Monday November 24, 2014. She attended McKinley school, Dean Morgan Junior High and Natrona County High School. In the summer of 1970 Jolene married Michael Hughes Cotton. Together they had two children, and owned and operated a few successful companies. In the late 1970's they started a new venture and built a family home in the Big Horn Mountains that remains a special place for the entire family. She always considered the cabin her home, but spent a majority of her life residing in Casper. Jolene was self-employed taking boundless pride in her work. Her family and friends describe her as the hardest working woman they have ever met. She made countless friendships along the way. Jolene enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and had a passion for caring and helping for family and friends in need. Tending to her yard and flowers brought her great peace. Some of her other pass times were fishing in the creek at the cabin, cleaning, taking a chance on a slot machine, and baking/candy making. Every year she made the best homemade peanut brittle, toffee, and many other delights for her family, friends, and all the people she worked for. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Yetter (Jeff), son Joshua Cotton (Sadie), grandchildren: Autum, Ashley, Abigail, Tayler, Lauren, Corwin, and five great grandchildren, Mike Cotton, sisters Carol Holt, Marjorie Howard, Sandy Puettman, and twin brother Joe Puettman, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and clients. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, father, mother, and brother Steve Puettman. Memorial services will be held on December 10, 2014 at 10:00am in the chapel at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery 80 Veterans Road Evansville, Wy. A celebration of life will immediately follow.
