Johnny Patterson

Johnny Ray Patterson, 64, passed away after a battle with lung cancer on December 28 2017, in Casper Wyoming. Johnny, or "John", was born June 8th, 1953 in Victorville California to Rosa (Combs) Flynn. He was raised by his mother and his stepfather Dwain Flynn. He had three siblings, David Patterson, Katie White, and Roland Flynn. He was raised in Casper, Wyoming and married Patricia (Patterson) Patterson on September 30th 1972. He joined the Navy in 1972 and was deployed to: Long Beach, San Diego, Whidbey Island, Guam, Naples and Norfolk. He served in Vietnam towards the end of that war. He retired from the Navy in 1994. John and Patricia welcomed their daughter, Catherine Patterson on April 8th in Long Beach, California; they welcomed their first son Johnny Michael on April 26th, also in San Diego; and they welcomed their youngest son Dwain on September 5th 1980 in Agana, Guam. They moved back to Casper in 2005 to care for Patricia's aging parents. He worked at Ecolab and retired at the age of 62. John enjoyed building models in his spare time. He liked action movies like James Bond. He also liked anime like DragonBall and Gundam Wing. He loved the Pokémon video games. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Patricia; his daughter Catherine, his son Dwain and daugher-in-law, Paris; his grandchildren, Alistair, Alexandra, Sakura and Andromeda; his sister Katie and his brother Roland, and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother David, his mother Rosa, his son Johnny Michael, and his father Dwain Flynn. In lieu of flowers, please give donations to Central Wyoming Hospice or Boyd Avenue's Building. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Boyd Avenue Baptist Church in Casper.
