Funeral services for John G. "Jack" Price will be held Saturday, February 2, at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church. He passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Wyoming Medical Center following a battle with leukemia. He was born in Kansas City, MO May 7, 1932 to John "Burris" and Marguerite Graves Price. He graduated from University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the National Guard in Kansas City from 1950-58. He married Charline Shoemaker in December, 1955. They moved to Casper with their three sons in 1965. Jack was in the automotive business most of his career having worked for General Motors, Nagle Motors, Ray Shellabarger Chevrolet, and Wells Fargo Bank. He retired in 1995. Jack was a member of the Casper Boat Club where he served as Commodore, a member of the Casper Mountain Lions Club, a member of the Casper Municipal Band Commission and served on the Mercer House Board. He served as financial secretary at First United Methodist Church and was a lay speaker for the Methodist Church in Midwest. He enjoyed several hobbies including model trains and photography. He won awards for a number of his pictures displayed at the fair and several were shown on the evening news weather reports. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Char; his sons Jeff (Ann) of Casper, Mike (Cynthia) of Bloomfield, MI, Douglas (Laurie) of Tulsa, OK; his grandchildren Emily (Chris) Buckley and Christopher (Janelle) Price of Casper, PJ and Bo Babcock of Bloomfield, MI, and Blair Price of Tulsa, OK; his great grandchildren Kyler and Keiren Eaton, and Sheldon, Jaden and Ashlyn Buckley. He is also survived by his brother-inlaw and sister-in-law Jim and Carol Rendina of Kansas City, MO and several nieces and nephews. The family would appreciate flowers or memorials to Midwest Community Church care of First United Methodist Church or to the Angel Program through Wyoming Medical Center Foundation.
